Hier, c’était le 68e anniversaire de la naissance de Matoub Lounès, si le sort n’en avait pas décidé autrement. Un homme dont la voix résonne encore dans nos cœurs. Né le 24 janvier 1956 en Kabylie, Matoub Lounès a consacré sa vie à défendre la culture et l’identité berbères à travers sa musique engagée. Sa voix puissante et sa poésie touchante ont captivé des millions de personnes à travers le monde. Il a commencé sa carrière artistique en animant des fêtes familiales, avant d’enregistrer son premier tube intitulé « Ayizem » , suivi d’un premier album, en l’occurrence « Ahya thilawin », sorti à Paris. C’est ainsi que le début du succès du jeune artiste a été lancé.
En dépit des dangers et des menaces qu’il a affrontés, Matoub Lounès n’a jamais cessé de se battre pour la liberté d’expression et les droits de son peuple. Sa musique est un témoignage vivant de son amour pour sa terre natale et de sa passion pour la justice. Matoub était un symbole de résistance, un porte-parole des opprimés et un défenseur des droits de l’homme. il a été assassiné le 25 juin 1998 dans son village natal, Taourirt Moussa, au Sud de Tizi-Ouzou par un groupe terroriste.
Le regretté Matoub Lounès a laissé derrière lui une trentaine d’albums dans la tradition « Chaâbi ». Ses chansons sont reprises par de nombreux artistes. Aujourd’hui, nous nous souvenons de lui avec gratitude et admiration. Son héritage perdurera dans nos cœurs et continuera d’inspirer les générations futures.
