L’Algérie intensifie ses efforts pour accroître sa production locale de médicaments, visant à réduire ses importations coûteuses. Dans ce cadre, une convention de partenariat a été signée entre le groupe public Saidal et le laboratoire Sanofi pour la fabrication de médicaments bio-similaires stratégiques en Algérie. La signature a eu lieu au siège du ministère de l’Industrie et de la Production pharmaceutique, supervisée par le ministre Ali Aoun, marquant ainsi le début de cette collaboration prometteuse.
Ce partenariat stratégique entre Saidal et Sanofi se concrétisera par la production locale de cinq médicaments bio-similaires innovants, destinés à traiter des maladies graves telles que le cancer et le diabète. La production commencera à la fin de 2024 et se poursuivra en 2025, selon le PDG de Saidal, Wassim Kouidri. Cette initiative vise à réduire considérablement les coûts d’importation, contribuant ainsi à la souveraineté sanitaire du pays.
En parallèle, Saidal poursuit plusieurs projets de production de matières premières pour médicaments, notamment à Batna, où la production de cristaux d’insuline a déjà débuté. Des projets supplémentaires prévoient la fabrication de matières premières pour les médicaments cardiovasculaires, les anti-inflammatoires, ainsi que pour le paracétamol et l’aspirine. Ces initiatives, soutenues par le ministre Ali Aoun, visent à renforcer l’autosuffisance de l’Algérie en médicaments essentiels, garantissant une valeur ajoutée au marché national.
