Un pas significatif a été franchi dans le cadre du plan de décongestion routière de la capitale Alger. La wilaya d’Alger a annoncé la fermeture, à partir d’aujourd’hui et pour une durée de six mois, du tronçon de la RN 1 reliant Birkhadem à Bir Mourad Raïs, au niveau du lieu connu sous le nom de la Côte. Cette fermeture est due aux travaux de prolongement des trémies adjacentes à la station routière multimodale de Bir Mourad Raïs. Un plan de déviation de la circulation a été établi pour minimiser l’impact sur le trafic. Les automobilistes venant de Blida vers Alger devront éviter l’entrée de la station routière multimodale, emprunter la direction de Dar El-Beida à droite, puis celle de Bir Mourad Raïs et Ben Aknoun à gauche.
Cette initiative s’inscrit dans une série de projets routiers lancés récemment pour désengorger la circulation dans la capitale. Par exemple, la mise en service de deux nouvelles trémies sur la RN 41 à Chéraga l’année dernière a amélioré la fluidité du trafic entre Alger, Chéraga, Zéralda, et Aïn Benian. À Staouéli, le projet de route reliant la zone d’expansion touristique de Sidi Fredj à Palm Beach et Azur Plage est en cours pour décongestionner le front de mer. D’autres projets, tels que l’échangeur de 4 km entre Réghaïa et Ouled Heddadj et le deuxième tronçon de la route reliant Ben Aknoun à Khraïcia, sont également en développement et devraient être achevés d’ici la fin de 2024.
Le ministre des Travaux publics, Lakhdar Rekhroukh, avait déjà donné le coup d’envoi du projet de dédoublement de la RN 63 en octobre 2023. Par ailleurs, un tunnel sur la RN 41 et une intersection à El-Harrach sont prévus pour faciliter l’accès à l’hôpital militaire Mère-enfant. Le projet de la pénétrante Hamissi à Tessala El-Merdja, reliant l’autoroute Est-Ouest à la première rocade autoroutière de Douaouda, est également en cours et devrait être réceptionné en 2024.
