L’artiste et dramaturge marocain, Ahmed Jaouad, a succombé, dimanche 2 avril, à ses graves blessures causées par son immolation par le feu, a annoncé lundi un hôpital de Rabat, où il a été admis pour recevoir les soins nécessaires.
A travers son geste de désespoir, l’artiste marocain voulait dénoncer l’exclusion et la marginalisation dont il a été victime.
Ahmed Jaouad est passé à l’acte, lundi dernier, en s’aspergeant d’essence devant un bâtiment du ministère de la Culture, pas loin du théâtre de Rabat où il travaillait en tant que contractuel.
« Avant son acte d’immolation, le défunt a observé une grève de la faim le 6 février dernier pour attirer l’attention des autorités sur sa marginalisation, en vain », selon des médias locaux.
Selon les mêmes sources, le dernier acte d’injustice qui a attisé la colère et l’exaspération du défunt est le refus par le ministère de la Culture d’acheter les droits de ses pièces théâtrales sans aucune raison valable.
