Le ministre du Commerce et de la Promotion des exportations, Tayeb Zitouni, a annoncé une baisse de 10% à 25% des prix des denrées alimentaires de large consommation durant le mois du Ramadhan. Il a ajouté que ces réductions engloberont aussi les produits électroménagers. Les services de contrôle communaux et les cadres et agents des directions du Commerce, vont accompagner l’opération afin « d’éviter sa mauvaise exploitation par des intermédiaires ». « Aucune hausse des prix ne sera justifiée, ni admise concernant les prix des viandes rouges d’importation, dont le kilogramme est réglementé à 1.200 DA, destinées à la consommation domestique et familiale ».
Il a confirmé, par ailleurs, l’arrestation d’un nombre d’importateurs et du retrait des licences d’exploitation à certains d’entre eux, après des constats d’infractions dans les prix ou de la destination de cette viande à un autre usage que celui de la consommation domestique.
Donnant le coup d’envoi officiel des activités des marchés de proximité « spécial Ramadhan », dont le nombre avoisine 500 marchés nationaux, il a estimé que ces derniers, constituaient « des espaces pour assurer les produits alimentaires et agricoles à des prix raisonnables, en application du principe « du producteur au consommateur ».
Le ministre a évoqué, également, un projet de réseau de distribution en cours qui assurerait l’encadrement du marché, en vue de limiter l’intervention des intermédiaires tout en protégeant le pouvoir d’achat et les droits des opérateurs.
Enfin, il a révélé le projet d’une cartographie nationale numérique de distribution des produits de large consommation et de modernisation des marchés régionaux de vente en gros, avec le renforcement et la diversification de leurs services. Une étude en cours d’élaboration, en coordination avec le ministère de l’Intérieur, sera réalisée pour la réorganisation de 526 marchés répartis à travers le territoire national, pour à une « vision prospective et intégrée » qui les érigent en espaces développés dédiés à l’exposition et à l’achat.
Le ministre a entamé sa visite par l’inspection du marché de gros de produits alimentaires (El-Kharrouba), d’un complexe privé d’industrie et de transformation de produits alimentaires (Khemis El-Khechna), deux entreprises privées (Hammadi) et une entreprise privée de la commune de Si Mustapha.
